I want to promote my Satire Website, but I have no money

Any starving writers out there have suggestions? I think its a fairly funny site, better than a lot of the crap you find on the net.

1. Hey, since I'm going to be starting a satire blog myself, here's what I'v

been thinking.

Basically, are you just looking for a lot of traffic--or are you trying to sell ads and make money? Anyway, can't help with the later.

Pound away here at DU, especially if it's political satire. Keep letting them know--there's a lot of people here, and word of mouth is great publicity.

Do you read any newspaper columnists regularly? If so, keep on doing it, and try starting up a correspondence with them--let them know what you liked about a certain column, etc., Eventually, let them know about your site--if he/she likes it, and it's up his/her alley, a mention in the column is also great free advertising.

I always feel bad posting my site here on DU... it makes me feel like I'm just using the message board as free advertising. I guess that's exactly what I'm doing, but I just feel like a dick when I do.

3. Have fun...I'll have to check out your site....I actually haven't

started mine mainly because I'm heading to Europe in three weeks for three weeks, so I can't see starting something I will just let sit right after launching! Also, I'm trying to come up with more ideas for publicity...I really want a lot of traffic. If anything else hits me, I'll let you know.

Also, you should visit some of the other blogs and getting yourself knwon there! There's alot out there, but your's being satirical by itself helps it stand out--I mean, a lot of what's out there are just rants against Dumbo! People start suffering from outrage overload!
