Political Humor/Satire (and a link to my 'politcal' revue)

I had really hoped to give up writing 'political' material but the events of 11/2 compell me to continue to ridicule with rhyme. <sigh>

anyone else into writing political/social satire? original or parody?

lord know we're all going to need a few laughs...

I was talking to my composing partner tonight about the possibility of bring the revue back in a post-election edition.

i think we probably will, but not until the election is certified and I can see the shape of the new cabinet.

already several songs will have to be OUT, but... perhaps JOHN! will return as DICK!...

it's too soon to really consider right now.

thanks again for taking the time to read it! glad you liked it and really REALLY wish you could hear/see what our amazing cast did with the material onstage. but, union rules prohibit releasing a video or CD....

1. believe it or not, that scene is *almost* a verbatim transcript from the Lou Dobbs Show!

2. oh my... I wrote my first plays in early high school. ?W was my 6th NYC production (all but one a musical). and I did readings of another play. before NY, I had a bit of a hit with a rock musical adapted from a Japanese Noh play...

3. to be honest, attendance was a disappointment. we had amazingly good reviews, but, mid- to small houses despite heavy advertising and outreach to non-cabaret audiences.

there will be no DVD or video because of union rules. sorry! really hoped to make it available but just can't.
