Note taking program you may find useful

so the other day I was looking for a note taking program. One that uses tabbies, or folders, or trees. Ok, ok I know one note does this but 99 bucks! So I found Keynote....

1. I've never used a note taking program

Are you using it for writing projects or something else? Are there any add-ons you'd recommend?

I'm downloading it because it looks quite useful. My "My Documents" folder is getting too large and it's possible I could incorporate much of my political and writing research into this program. I may be able to use it in my business to keep track of projects there as well. So I'm looking forward to playing with it.

2. Mostly for my word development stuff

I am in the midst of writign a role playing game and I have literally taken a lot of my back ground and placed in here in individual folders and in the process of expanding on some sections I have not worked on. So if I need to look up what is teh tchnology behind Quatum Computers, just open that part of the tree and I have to deal with two, three pages at most.

The game will see print in December (PDF), but I need to continue developing it
