Don’t forget—tomorrow—May 1, 2006, the second issue of DU’s literary magazine, The Necessary Language, hits newsstands! Actually, it hits the web, so just go to the link: TheNecessaryLanguage.com. If you missed our inaugural edition, simply click under “past issues.”

Thanks to everyone who contributed this issue—the response was terrific. The magazine is really catching on, and I encourage everyone to participate. Our next issue is scheduled for August 1, 2006. We consider the magazine a learning process for those of us at DU. It is a non-edit magazine, meaning any fiction you submit, in any genre, is published as-is. So, if you want to submit, simply PM me, or send an e-mail to [e-mail]. I’m spending the summer in Yellowstone (traveling there tomorrow) so it may take me a few days to get back to you, but we have plenty of time before our next issue.

Again, thanks to all our contributors and readers, and be sure to thank WesDem for hosting our magazine on her website, and for all her hard work in getting this up and running.

2. We had to go with one per writer because of the overwhelming

response this time--your second will go in next issue--I know, I know, a prolific writer like yourself will probably have about 20 for thenext issue!

I felt sort of piggy. Of course I hope 'The Striker' goes into the fall issue. It is a sort of worthless story but oh so true for those of us that sally forth to the hunt the sea and return with nothing.

It will go in the fall issue for sure...can't believe we had so many submissions this time when last time I was scrounging for some! Hope youa nd Jitterbug are okay with that--your seconds will definitely be in the fall.
