2. If a story is published here as a draft ...

can it still be submitted to magazines?

3. By "here" do you mean on DU, or in The Necessary Language

If the former, it's my understanding that publishers are reasonably cool about works that have been posted for purposes of workshopping, though you're better off using a semi-private online forum, rather than one that's visible to all eyes.

If the latter, then an appearance in The Necessary Language definitely qualifies as publication, and works that appear there can't thereafter be submitted for "first publication."

I have a couple of stories I workshopped in the fall, and I would like to get a few more perspectives on them. My instructor really liked them and she and some classmates had some suggestions. But before I implement those changes, I would like to get a few more critiques.
