I went to a poetry reading in San Francisco this evening. I read the following haiku:
Vagrants drink jug wine In the shady park at noon: Three martini lunch.
Cars from the suburbs On jammed freeways go to work: Bushmen walk about.
Television ads Kids watch on Saturday: Street punks peddling dope.
Office seekers speak At dinner to white-tied guests: A street whore seeks johns.
The president acts, Bombs rain on cities at night: Street thugs shoot victims.

I took some drama in high school. It helps to be ham when reading this to an audience.
Thanks for the good notice.
