Well this sucks

I just got an e-mail from the editor of the magazine I write for on a regular basis. Somebody wants my permission to quote something I wrote, to put it in an e-book. Cool, right? Not so much. It's from a column I ghostwrite for two other people. My words are going to be immortalized as coming from SOMEONE ELSE! (And I don't like them, either!)

Gah. The perils of ghostwriting...

1. Just so everyone knows, I ghost-wrote the OP for MorningGlow.

Seriously, though--that totally stinks. I mean, you get the satisfaction of being quoted, but I'm sure that's a small consolation. The worst IMO would be to have someone else say to you "Did you hear what so-and-so wrote? It's brilliant!"

Well, there have been new developments since I posted. My editor likes me and doesn't like the "ghostwritees" (and neither do I, which made the whole situation worse), so she was griping about it. I had said go ahead; she said "I don't want to." I reminded her that she owns the content, as it's part of her magazine, so ultimately it's her call. She decided to decline permission. So it's all good. :hi:
