A poem that totally sucks!
An Epic Poem.

By 180.

I wish to write an epic poem
one about a mile long.

A poem that touches here and there
a poem that touches everywhere.

A poem full of wit and rime
that one could read at any time.

Creeping about upon your knees
creeping about among the trees.

A poem with no beginning
that has no ending.

So I writ it on this
Mobius Strip.

Sigh.

1. Very "Where The Sidewalk Ends". I think
you should continue and make it A Mile Long!!!! I like it.

3. I liked the tesseract house that went very wrong
Just a minor pedantic quibble, "rime" is frost. Did you mean "rhyme?"

6. No I meant to use Rime
As in 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner'

One of my very favorite story/poems. A fellow DUer sent me a nine by twelve inch illustrated book of the 'Rime'--a treasure indeed.

Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Illustrations by Gustave Dor'e.

it was really REALLY cool poetry for kids (and grown ups too). I think it's the same guy the wrote The Giving Tree.

Hope the link works. If not go to Amazon.

14. I don't know anything about poetry
But I am reading a book of poems called "Pencil Letters" now. It was written by a russian woman while she was in a kgb jail. I like the parts i can understand. Guided by Voices lyrics are probably the closest thing to poetry I have any knowledge of "post christmas, cup cake hand grenade...SOUL TRAIN COLLEGE POLICEMAN!"

And neither do I. Over the years I have written some story/poems only because I wanted to. Maybe in 70 years I have written twenty poems.

Welcome to DU lesterhalfjr
