Ezine/Blog articles

I have a question to bloggers and readers. Do you try to limit the word count on your posts, or do you find a certain amount is too much or too little in regards to the amount of text per article?

Right now my blog article seem to be ranging from 250-750 words, and I am trying to post two to three articles a day. I would love to get your opinions on this topic.

1. Your range sounds good...

...depending on your audience and the subject matter.

For example, I regularly check in on writing blogs and a state history blog that I love. It doesn't matter how long the articles are. It's like making a visit to my favorite magazine. I'll read them to the last word and expect to see longer, more thorough articles there.

If I was checking in on the blog my county party created to keep me up to date on political goings on, then maybe the articles shouldn't be too long. This is really better used like a bulletin board, with occasional articles that go long, but generally short stuff with links to the meat of the issue for those who want or have time for further reading.

It's really all in how you package and sell your blog. You build reader expectations that you must then meet.
