Question Re: Agents

what do writers do if their agent doesn't like a particular book the writer has but the writer doesn't want to set it aside or throw it out?

does the writer submit it on their own?
can the writer look for a second agent for that particular project?

what can the writer do about this other than changing agents?

First question's pretty parental, you didn't sign anything did you? If you did, what I'd do is check the document for what your rights are concerning projects not of interest to the agent. Seek clarification if vague and see what agreements can be made.

Next question would surround trust and rapport. Do you trust this person to represent your interests, do they have and offer experience and input you have faith in?

Recent posts here have been about open calls for manuscripts by big houses.
