Something I am tired of looking at for your amusement, comment, critique
etc. i wanted to keep it to a one page greeting/message to family and friends. Keep in mind it's a work in progress.
Oh, and sorry to post and run but I have to be up at six. Check ya in the morning.

All I want for Christmas is my Country back.

To all my Friends and Family, this holiday greeting I send to you
Don’t buy me any presents, Don’t feel the need.
Just listen to my greeting for a minute please

Can someone please assure me
That all our voices matter?
And my civil rights are safe?
That my vote was really counted?

That in this great democracy
No matter rich or poor
The voices of the people
Are what our leaders listen to?

Cuz people let me tell you
This girl is really scared
My children are at the age
And war is in the air –

Let us not forget the election debacle of 2000
When our president was appointed by the high court in the land.
And the people’s voice? Discounted.
Too late, the congress said.

Now here it’s Christmas, 2004
There’s questions in the air.
The Internets are full of doubt
Exit polls were off but no one cares.

Ohio looks suspicious. Blackwell‘s not playing fair.
He rearranged his precincts and machines.
And enacted a poll tax there.

I guess that we’re not supposed to know
Election software makers have partisan ties
Of course, the machines are accurate
Their money was funding the winning guy.

And Florida? No cause for alarm.
Of course their tallies are matching
They trashed poll tapes in Volusia county.
Bev Harris went dumpster diving.

Professors and experts say
That the margins are all screwed up
Those percentages can’t be they exclaim –
These numbers just don’t add up.

And the Media? “What Story?”
News anchors heard to sniff,
“The secretary of state says it’s all good,
Ukrainian Fraud! No WMD here!”

So once again we will have
A president we didn’t elect
All the votes were not counted
The mandate is suspect

So there my friends you have it
My holiday present to you
I just want you to know I’m fighting
For my rights and your rights too.

The civil rights of every man, woman and child in America are at stake here.
