2. Technically speaking, mushrooms are.

There are no long term side effects, you can't OD on them, and unlike with LSD, the "trip" isn't severe enough to risk freaking out and killing yourself.

and what varieties of mushrooms are you talking about, specifically? Several are psychoactive.

There are so little harmful alkaloids in the correct type of mushrooms that while it may be possible to get enough to have harmful effects, you would need to intake such a large quanity that it is unrealistic.

A: A. muscaria, the classic red toadstool with white warts on top, does not contain psilocybin, but a series of muscarinic deliriants. Its effects are completely different from psilocybin containing mushrooms. It is considered by many to be "poisonous" (not very, but deaths have been attributed) and in general the effects are not enjoyed. Avoid.

Just so you know, I'm not against people using psychedelics. Some of humankind's most significant and beautiful achievements come from psychedelic use, studies are released every day pointing to the role of entheogenic plants in the development of our major religions.

But I advise caution, when saying something like you can't OD on mushrooms. You must be specific. People who don't know, can take that misinformation and die by eating the wrong stuff.

9. I should have clarified

"Boomers" "Magic mushrooms" "shrooms" are all P cubensis and are also the most common used, hence I was referring tho them. And it is funny that the only dangerous pyschoactive mushroom is the only legal one :/

You can take too much caffeine and die of heart failure. It's not possible to take to much THC (or any other cannabinoid).

Smoking may be more dangerous than roasting coffee although the jury's still out. But that's not toxicology, which only deals with the amount of the drug itself that will kill you in some way. A drug with a high active-dose:lethal-dose ratio is safer. For example the active dose of a drug like methamphetamine and the lethal dose are not too too far away. Cannabis would have a ratio of infinity.

But yeah, the smoke part of it is definitely bad. Luckily there are other methods of administration.
