Terence McKenna
I love Terence McKenna and wish I could have seen one of his lectures before he passed away back in 2000.

"Tree of Knowledge" is my favorite lecture from him and I found free audio links to the whole thing. This entire show is a must listen even though its about 10 hrs long, it is well worth the time to listen to it, even if you have to listen to it in sections.

It touches upon the stoned ape theory of evolution, mushroom trips, dmt trips, ayuashca trips, south american shamans and lastly (most interesting) it goes into McKenna's mathematical model of the ancient chinese I-Ching hexagrams which gets into the actual mathematical model of solving fractals and time itself. Also very interesting is that running it to its end, it ends December 2012.

Anyway, I think its a must listen: And here's the links:

Part I, Part II, Part III, Part IV, Part V, Part VI, Part VII, Part VIII

1. I only heard him a few times,
but boy was I impressed.

Recently I heard his brother speak (on a radio show) and he's very intelligent, too. Must run in the family.

Thanks for these links -- looking forward to listening to them!

7. Another cool link
Thanks Nashville_Brook... There's one part in the Tree of Life audio that comes to mind that I like. Its the part where he says we (the psychedelic crowd) should stand up and roar.

8. on one of the lectures mike hagen broadcast, TM also said to "seek each other out"

which really resonated with me. he had such faith in "us."

on edit: okay -- very creepy to be reading his wiki and having this conversation today... as i'm migraine-ing for the first time in a couple of (blessed) months. from his wiki:

A longtime sufferer of migraines, in mid-1999 McKenna returned to his home in Hawaii after a long and tiring lecturing tour. He began to suffer from increasingly painful headaches. This culminated in a brain seizure, which led to McKenna being diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme, a highly aggressive form of brain cancer.

i knew he died of brain cancer, but i didn't realize he was a migraineur. there's also an hallucinating catholic saint who was a migraineur. all the women in my family had migraines, but so far none has had cancer. every time i have a migraine, i wake up with it after very vivid, strange dreams. this morning i was dreaming of a woman who was writing a book on having cancer. i said that that won't help me write my book b/c i don't have cancer. years ago, this same woman also warned me in a dream that my dog had died -- and she was right.

yikes!!
