K2. Those who've tried it. What do you think?
I have been reading mixed reviews. What is the consensus from those who have tried it here?

after a couple of years. Google K2. There are lots of things with that label. I have no idea what you're talking about.

3. K2. A product sold as incense, but people are smoking it
Some say its high is equivalent to a marijuana high. Does not show up on drug tests. It's kinda the new rage here in Texas. I thought it may be a national thing as well.

Not everyone is a doper. Even in the Drug Policy forum.

I'm kind of shocked that it isn't well known here. It's a big deal here in Texas. Maybe it's a regional thing?

Edited on Mon Jun-28-10 07:53 PM by Ilsa
I'm assuming K2 is a streetname, as in named for the second-highest mountain.

26. It's a mix of various herbs. Some have some psychoactive
Edited on Mon Jun-28-10 08:02 PM by MineralMan
characteristics. Others just smell nice. A couple of the ingredients are fairly toxic in quantity. Google K2 ingredients for a list.

The bottom line is that it, like most other herbal "smokes" are just a way for people who get drug tested to supposedly get high. The reality is that they're a way for someone to make money by selling a mixture of cheap herbs for big bucks.

Will K2 get you high? Yup. It can cause hallucinations and delirium, too. Huffing glue will get you high, too, as it destroys your liver. The high school set is using K2 quite a bit right now, along with assorted dopers who can't smoke weed since they get drug tested at work.

Weed is good. Mixtures of random herbs like K2...not so much. It might be safe. It might be toxic in the long term.

27. List of K2 ingredients:
K2 Standard: contains a proprietary
blend of herbs and extracts including :

Canavalia rosea -
SEEDS ARE TOXIC.

Clematis vitalba -
Clematis is also known as Poor Man's Friend and Boys Baca - referring to the stems being used as a tobacco substitute. However, all parts of the plant are toxic to a certain degree. Flowers were also used as a substitute for tea. TOXIC IF EATEN.

Nelumbo nucifera -
n/a.

Pedicularis grandifolia -
n/a.

Heimia salicifolia -
No adverse side-effects or after-effects are known. This plant is not known to be particularly toxic, although prolonged use can negatively affect memory.

Humulus lupulus -
Hop (Humulus lupulus) is cultivated for its use in beer-making. It is also used as an ornamental vine in many areas. Hop pickers can develop dermatitis from working with common hop plants

Lavender -
n/a.

Leonurus sibiricus -
No truly toxic dosage is known massive overdoses fed to rats during experiments did not produce death. Because the effects of the pure herbage are not especially pronounced, they can be synergistically potentiated by mixing with other herbs.

Ledum palustre -
Wild rosemary is used in beer for it's pleasantly fresh and spicy aroma, its bitter taste and also its enjoyable narcotic properties. It should not be used in excess as it is somewhat toxic and can cause headaches.

5. It's either a brand of snow skis or an add-on for Joomla.`
K2 also makes skates and snowboards. Or, perhaps the OP is talking about K2 the mountain in the Himalayas. There are K2 batteries for electric vehicles, and lots more products with that branding.

I prefer Head skis to K2, though, especially for slalom.

14. How about you smoke a bunch of it, then get back to us?
Reminds me of a guy names Phil Johnson. He'd take any damn thing. When something unusual showed up, we could count on Phil to take it without question. If he survived and seemed intact, some of us might try it too. So, you're looking for a Phil Johnson, I guess.

I looked at the website for that crap. Costs about the same as dope. Why not smoke dope? It's proven, relatively harmless, and isn't made from petroleum derivatives. Seriously...

But, hey, smoke what you want.

21. Mineral Man, seriously, what is your problem with me
I asked a question based on things I've read and heard. There are opinions on this board that I value. Seriously, what is wrong with you? Can you be friendly here?

As I said earlier, it is really popular for people who are on probation or who are drug tested for their jobs. Maybe someone here is in that category and choose to do this so that they won't get in trouble.

18. Ive never done it but
I have had friends who have done it here in Indiana and just do not do it. It is just a hodgepodge of random chemicals mixed together and it causes brain tumors and very serious health problems if done for a while. I'd say it is even worse than pot right now because it is unregulated and anything can be put into it(not saying pot is regulated either by the FDA or anything but at least it is a plant). K2 is terrible for you.

28. it's classified as an entheogen, so it's for shamans, not recreational use
even though it's mild, probably best to stick with known quantities like MJ, unless you want to spend the evening vomiting your guts out or worse.

and just in general, herbs which have been classified as entheogenic probably should not be used casually. I was unaware of the whole synthetic issue until just now.

29. I sell blaze
Edited on Mon Jun-28-10 09:31 PM by timo
I sell a similar product called blaze, its all based on jwh-18 and similar chemicals......you can spray that stuff on pencil shavings and it will get you stoned!!! so dont be fooled by all the "exotic" herbs n ingrediants. we sell about 200 grams a week to 10 days, there are over 100 brands on the market, I havent tried it but my customers love it say the high lasts for 3 hours better than reggie and mids but not near as good as kine. just google jwh 18 and jwh 200 thats the 2 I use when I make it, a pound of substrate usually hops or damiana will run you 1200 dollars and it sells for 20 a gram on the street.
all that lame shit about shaman ism is bull shit like i said you could spray the chems on cow shit and it will get u roasted!! long term effects??? couldnt tell you the package says NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION, alot of u will shake your heads and call me an asshole for selling it, well that may be but I am sick of being flat busted and i need stuff for my kids just like the next guy. I am not breaking any laws so I am gonna ride this train till it runs off the tracks!!!!!

30. Active ingredient is jwh-18
You can google more detailed info on it, but essentially it's a chemical that was developed for research purposes that acts on the same receptors as delta 9 thc. It was not intended for human consumption.

I tried a couple hits out of curiosity and found the effects short lasting and somewhat unpleasant, like the negative effects some people get with a strong sativa. It's definitely not the legal cannabis alternative it's being marketed as,just another (legal for now) drug kids and other desperate people will try when they can't get the real thing
