Idiots Fear Hemp Fields in California
Edited on Mon Jul-25-11 08:57 PM by SHRED
No medicinal/recreational grower of Marijuana would want a hemp field anywhere NEAR their crop. Hemp cross-pollination destroys the marijuana flowering process. This whole argument that pot growers can hide their crop in hemp fields is nonsense and an outright lie.

Yolo County doesn't want to be site of hemp farms

A bill that would allow industrial hemp farming in targeted areas of California for the first time since World War II could be on Gov. Jerry Brown's desk by September.

The Yolo County Board of Supervisors, however, has asked the bill's sponsor, Sen. Mark Leno, D-San Francisco, to remove Yolo from the proposed legislation, said Chris Lee, a spokesman for the county's intergovernmental affairs office.

Lee said the county's sheriff and district attorney were concerned that law enforcement officers would have difficulty distinguishing hemp, a non-psychoactive form of cannabis, from illegal marijuana growing operations.

1. Hey Yokel Board o' Stupes - leave it up to individual farmers to decide what they want to do!
If they don't want to, they won't.

2. Tell them not to worry about it
In a few years it won't make any difference if it is hemp or weed will it?

Our economy here in CA is in such piss poor shape legalization will soon be necessary in order to collect enough taxes to keep the state running.

3. It would matter. I wouldn't want a hemp field within 50 miles of my medical cannabis patch ...
... if I was downwind of it.

In fact, if drug worriers wanted to end outdoor cultivation of medical cannabis, they would allow hemp farming everywhere.
