Stiletto Stoners Shocked The Hell Out Of Me
Lowly paralegal that I am, I was glad to invited out one Friday last Fall for drinks and dinner with three pretty high-level female attorneys I work with, all in their 40s or 50s. We had our drinks and went to a very nice house where we had dinner and talked shop. After a while, one suggested we go out to the back porch for a smoke. I grabbed my Marlboro Lights out my purse, followed them out and lit up. As we are sitting out there smoking, one of them asks me when was the last time I smoked some really good pot. I didn't know if this was some kind of test or what so I said about 30 years ago. She laughed and told me I was in for a treat. I was totally shocked as she lit a bowl and started to pass it around. As you might expect, I got stoned immediately. The sight of the four of us in our "business attire" huddled on this porch smoking pot struck me as funnier and funnier and I laughed until my sides hurt. This quickly became the end-of-the-work-week ritual and I really enjoy being a part of it. I never would have guessed that such bright, successful and tough women were actually secret stoners. The "Stiletto Stoners" really do exist!

2. Indeed.
And for the most part, I think that's just fine. But I wish the House of Representatives would put down the pipe once in a while. I think their stuff is laced with something bad.

8. I love hearing stories like yours!
I don't consider myself a stoner or a hippie. Oddly enough in my younger days I rarely ever touched the stuff because i was worried I might be drug tested for work. In fact I didn't even smoke weed on a regular basis until I was 30 years old. I kinda wish people could be more open about their enjoyment of weed. The stereotype among non-users still seems to be that of hippie and slacker types and thats simply not true.

9. Thanks
Hey DLine.
Smart as a whip young paralegal, age 25, got hired and has joined our "smoking group." I used to drink too much all the time from stress at work and feel the horrible effects the next day. Now I rarely drink at all and am able to do a much better job. These days, we don't even bother with happy hour on Fridays but meet for dinner, discussion, good music and smoke. I'd like to quit smoking cigarettes but I have no intentions to stop smoking weed. It is a positive thing and defintely should be legal. By the way, I never wear stiletto heels! :)

10. A Little Bit More...
Just a little bit more on this topic now that I have the time. I started smoking again at 53 after not smoking at all since I was 21 or 22. I've been through divorce, being a single mother and having a very stressful job. Before I started, I was totally stressed out, feeling like I was losing my mind, waking up hungover and generally depressed. Marijuana has helped me change that. I feel 10 times better now. I was very apprehensive about my college age daughter, who lives with me, finding out about "mom smoking weed." We had some discussions about drugs and legalization and I admitted to her that I smoke. She was so glad to hear this because she is also a smoker and thought I would be so disappointed with her. It is not unusual for us to smoke a bowl in the evening and have a nice talk. This is a far cry from when I was drinking and we argued all the time. Marijuana should be legal. My daughter turned me on to a web site about the Women's Marijuana Movement. It is worth checking out. Peace.
