Mission statement:
Every child deserves a great teacher, a great place to learn, and great educational opportunities. Great Schools for America is established to support professional educators in providing the best possible education for our children.
A movement is underway to exclude educators from the education process and ultimately privatize our public schools. The movement is backed by big money and considerable political clout.
But, what if we viewed education from a different perspective, one that supports robust public schools where professional educators are empowered to do their jobs and children are free to discover their strengths in all areas of intelligence. What if we fully funded all public schools, including charters, and hired only highly capable education professionals to run them? What if we viewed standardized tests as only one way to measure a student's success? What a wonderful education that would be!
linkWe will see if this is a beginning of a movement or else it is just a voice in the wilderness. After all, the Gateses, Waltons, Broads, and other zillionaire privatizers have a big jump on anybody who would oppose their goals.
