Bill Clinton supports raising the cap on NY charter schools
I put my own title for this, as the NY Post's was too vague.

More triangulating shit despite the fact there is no evidence charter schools are any more effective than public schools:

Ratcheting up the pressure on Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, former President Bill Clinton yesterday urged the state Assembly to pass legislation to lift the cap on charter schools.

"Absolutely, I do," Clinton said when he asked whether he backed a charter-school expansion -- taking a rare position on a controversial state issue.

"And I don't think they should do it just because of the federal funding," Clinton said, referring to New York's plan to apply for up to $700 million in Race to the Top grants.

"I think it's the right thing to do," he said during a promotional soccer event in Harlem at which the former president announced he would serve as honorary chairman of the United States' bid to host the 2018 or 2022 World Cup.

NY Post

You'd think somebody as smart as Clinton would know better, but he was always into this neoliberal crap of education "reform."

4. Of course he supports raising the cap
The DLC position all along has been to promote more charters. Anyone who thinks education policy would have been any different under President Hillary hasn't been paying attention.

6. Let's be honest here. It's being pushed by the neoliberals
Some have been brainwashed by the "charter school" mania when there isn't one shred of evidence they are worth a shit.

This is all about limiting education for most people.

7. No, it isn't. My firm did a lot of work on this issue and it's VERY popular among
inner city residents who feel their kids are trapped in bad schools.

12. They didn't get popular just by accident.
Charter schools have been pushed by think tanks from the right and the center. That "free enterprise" kool-aid really gets around, sadly.

11. there are reams of evidence that they ARE
working and working very well for many.

Too bad you can't read anything that disproves your "position".

The NY POST, really? That's your go-to news source these days?

The other groups supporting charters aren't relevant.
