NEA-RA begins tomorrow in NOLA

I have been on Du for many, many years. I post rarely yet I read often. I am a Michigan Delegate. I went to the Dept. of Ed at the Expo today and respectfully gave them a piece of my mind.

I have email Duncan many times but no reply. I was told to attend the "listening sessions" which I did last year and explained that Duncan wasn't listening! Also, told them to put those listening sessions on days and times that education employees could attend--not during the school day like they did this year in Detroit.

I stated my displeasure as to whom Duncan is getting his "ideas." I told them to talk to educators not Broad, Gates, etc...

I took a lot of the propaganda provided. It sounded and looked to me that the new ploy is to "get the parents on board with his plans."

Well, in Michigan we believe that "Enough is Enough." I plan to make sure our voice is heard at the RA! So....

What else should I put on my agenda?

2. Not pleased with the entire agenda

and working hard to make sure the message is heard by the messenger and the President.

It is getting easier everyday as more and more is said about education professionals. It is great to be with so many with liked minds. We have over 8,000 NEA members here!!!

I go to AFT convention Wed. Bill Gates is speaking. Sure wish we had Ravitch like NEA :)
