Teachers Back-To-School Night No-Shows
LEVITTOWN, Pa. - On "Back-to-School Night" in the Neshaminy School District on Thursday night, there was one very important thing missing: Teachers!

Fox 29’s Claudia Gomez brings us her report from outside a junior high school in Levittown.

Claudia reports that not one single teacher showed up for this important night at Carl Sandburg Junior High, or at the other two schools in this district.

1. Three years is plenty long...
... to work without a contract.

Oops, I forgot, teachers are highly-paid civil service drones just counting the hours until they can retire on their lavish pensions.

2. So the employer, the state, abrogated their responsibility to provide
health insurance (the cornerstone of the watered-down HCR plan) and the union, not surprisingly, is unable to provide insurance, as unions income comes from membership fees meaning for them to provide insurance the teachers would have to pay the unions several hundred dollars a month in fees.

And EVERY response in the linked article holds the teachers/unions to blame.

Did I miss anything?

3. Good for them.
We had a slow-down when I worked in Vegas...no contract for almost 18 months, so we stopped doing anything outside of the contracted duties. Very hard on everyone, and of course teachers took the heat for the slow-down, not the board ("Don't you love children enough to sacrifice for them?").
