A genre of film with two common plots:

1.) highly passionate white teacher elicits from mostly white students the epiphany that school is an oppressive institution with institutional values worth standing up to;

2.) highly passionate white teacher tells mostly brown students that teachers just want to help and that students should sit down. (Once brown students learn to sit in rows, usually under threat of karate or bribe of Butterfingers, they may again assume control of their detention hall turned dance troupe, this time with more respect for the values of socialization.)
