Obama administration defends taxes for religious schools.
WASHINGTON — An Obama administration lawyer defended an Arizona program that funds religious schools with state tax credits and urged the Supreme Court on Wednesday to block advocates of church-state separation from suing over such arrangements.

The argument ran into sharp and skeptical questioning from the court's liberal justices, including President Obama's two appointees to the high court.

At issue was the constitutionality of a 13-year-old Arizona law that allows its taxpayers to direct a $500 tax credit to private organizations, which in turn can fund students to enroll in exclusively religious schools.

Not only supporting the program, but trying to arrange it so no one can bring a suit against the arrangement on the grounds that taxes are supporting religion, since you "cannot prove tax dollars are supporting religion in these schools." So, you can't subpeona data to make your case, and they don't have to release info because they're private. More "fierce advocacy" . . . for the other side.

5. This is what I am saying. Holder did not get rid of Bush's
people in the DOJ if you look at the decisions they have made you will see because the mention the names of some of those in charge and they were appointed by Bush. The Obama administration is so damn afraid of being called on moving them out that they are standing mealy mouthed by and letting them stay. The first thing a new administration does is move those of the other party out of supervisor or controlling positions. They don't have to be fired. Move them to where they can't make decisions and control the rest of the organization they head. Obama's' people did not do that and it has had terrible consequences.

8. He didn't replace them. He made the choice to keep them,
it is Obamas DOJ and there is no spinning that. Yes it has had terrible consequences.

9. Well, That'll Be The Nail In The Coffin Of The Teachers' Vote
Teacher's unions too, as well as other unions. How did their vote factor in on Tuesday? Were they a non-factor?

12. Given the Obama Administrations RTTT program, I might just have to vote for the candidate who calls
for an elimination of the entire federal Dept. of Education. Obama has pissed me off so much because of his education policies. If he were up for reelection today I would not vote for him. I may not vote R, but I would not vote for him b/c of the RTTT policy.

I'm sick of Obama's scapegoating of teachers after we helped elect him.

11. As it should.
:grr:

I don't know about Arizona, but teachers helped put Kitzhaber over the top against an enemy of teachers and unions in my state; it was too close for comfort.
