So... did Bedbuggate sink Joel Klein?
Edited on Tue Nov-09-10 04:08 PM by Smarmie Doofus
He's beating a hasty retreat. ( Or is it *tasty*?)

As Frances McDormand said in FARGO, "Its a reeeeaaal shame."

Here's the Bedbuggate link:

This is where the bedbug bodies are buried.

Seriously... it seems a bit sudden. I'd heard no inklings and he's such a wonderful success as schools chancellor ( I'm kidding, for the uninitiated.) it doesn't much make sense for him to scram right about now.

The timing is odd. Very, very, odd.

5. The new one is a publisher
Why don't they hire an educator? Someone who understands how kids learn and what affects that learning - that is the point of school, right?

6. Wrong. They couldn't care *less* about NYC pubic schools.
This is a corporate elite... largely Manhattan based, but lots w. primary and secondary palatial digs on east end LI, CT ( that's where the new one is from, BTW) and Westchester.

They do not *use* public school. Their *demographic* does not use public school. They know nothing * about* the schools because they have no *connection* to them.

Yet, they insist on controlling.... you got it.... the public school systems.

It's like a friggin' Woody Allen movie.

And did you see where Klein's going??!!??!!!!!!

Ya can't make it up.
