By law, the chancellor is supposed to have education credentials. Mr. Klein received a waiver. (We have seen how that worked out.)

Bloomberg wants to do the same thing with Cathaleen Black.

There is some reason to think petitioning the NYS commissioner might be effective right about now. He ( Mr. Steiner) has shown a degree of independence from Bloomberg, Klein , and the gang, that the previous guy was incapable of exerting.

Anyone ( i.e. from any state) can sign.

Corporate domination of public schools is a *national* issue, after all.
