Everytime I hear someone say that some of their best friends are (whatever) it alerts me that what follows is a rationalization for some form of prejudice.

Here is a mouthful, courtesy from our pal Rick Warren:

I alerted on that lock. That was probably the most cordial and solidifying thread I have seen on this forum in WEEKS, and it gets locked? By mentioning riots that happened 40 years ago, how does that advocate violence today?!?!?!

If I so disapprove of who and what a person is I wouldn't be their friend.
I don't make friends with people then stab them in the back (like voting to eradicate their rights).
I detest racism so I have no friends who are members of the KKK. RRRW fundies make me puke so it would be hypocritical of me to denounce them but claim to have a bunch of fundie friends.

What kind of lying, backstabbing scum would treat "friends" like Warren treats gay people--and what self-respecting gay person would put up with it?
