1. Rick Warren is a liar and I don't use that term lightly.

I've seen plenty of evidence to indicate that Rick Warren is a really bad person. He's a lying conniving snake oil salesman who is in this only for profit and self-aggrandizement.

He's managed to fool a lot of people but that doesn't change who he is and what he does. He's a nasty piece of work.

3. It shows two things.

One, the mega church is a business..
and the evangelical kind has to attract
a certain sort of clientele who are
very likely to be homophobic.

Second, Warren is an opportunistic
rightwing hypocrite. He's one thing
to gays and something else to his
clientele. He can't be both, so when
it comes to public proclamations, he
is going to side with the clientele
who bring in the money.

Not at all what was originally promised. Apparently, he started trying to back out of it after the Newsweek article. My coffee table has more integrity.

10. Very interesting--and disturbing

The more I find out about Warren, the more I fear he will use his new found fame to help only himself--he's not interested in doing anything meaningful if it means he would lose some of his power and prestige.
