4. no. I think I am going to go to bed
maybe look up some music stuff from the sixties first.

I hate the "new America."

And we are white, straight, married, college...etc.

We did everything "right."

Except: hate people for whom they choose to love. Hate people for not being able to get the same level of education. Hate people for not having the luck to get jobs like ours. Hate people for not being white enough.

Jesus. I just need to go to bed. Seriously.

6. Ah, yes. The elitism.
I'm fairly certain it's always been there, but now that the liberals have some real leverage in Washington it's becoming more pronounced.

Sleep well, buddy. I'll have a scotch for you.

5. We won the election from the left - so we swung to the right!
Makes sense, in a parallel universe.

10. We "won" by tossing selected ballast overboard
such as the working class, women and gays. The old school working class was spoiling the Urban Archipelago's party, women with their stupid little reproductive rights were losing elections, and so were the icky queers. So out they went.

11. Well when we were a minority...
We were truer to our views. When we grow, others don't change (or at least haven't this time) but melt into us pulling our party to the right. Although, I don't agree that this has happened on GLBTQ rights. We've never had the support for it that we have today, even in our own party.

13. If the party moves a bit right...
But the nation takes a leap left, I don't have a problem with that. It's not what I want. But it's movement, overall, in the right (left) direction.
