A situation...
I found out I have an ovarian cyst it is as big as the top of a soda can 6.5 cm. My insurance won't bother with it until it is 7 cm.
I am hoping because of that cyst ,maybe I will get my ovaries taken out too.
They were left in because the hysterectomy I had was due to unstoppable uterine bleeding, not because I was transgendered. Back then I would have wanted it all taken out but I didn't know how to go about getting that done,so I was just happy to get the uterus out.
Now there's this cyst.Do you think based on the cyst,I could argue that my ovaries need to go too? What approach would work best?I would like to start testosterone sometime. But I am not sure if I can start it with these ovaries still in.I am 43,not young anymore, like when I had my uterus out.

Anyone who can help, your advice would be much appreciated.

1. You are pretty close to the natural menopause time frame
I would think this is perfect timing. Lots of women have both breasts removed because of tumors in one and the likelihood of it occurring in the other.

I'm not a doctor, and have no other experience in this area, but I'm wishing you well! And I would think your age and your proximity to menopause would be a factor.

Good luck!

2. I don't know if this helps, but
an ex-girlfriend of mine had an ovarian cyst problem similar to yours. The doctors wanted to remove her ovaries, but she resisted (she wants to have a family some day). While I'm sure there are substantial differences in her case and yours, I think it at least suggests that what you're proposing is feasible. At any rate, good luck.

3. I would love for you to find the right doctor and get it done.
The only thing I can think of is to maybe search TG resources online to look for options that may be available in your area BEFORE the decision is made one way or another.

One angle that might work would be to look for a "second opinion." By checking for TG resources beforehand, that "second opinion" could be a doctor who would actually do the surgery. That way, just maybe, you can get it done and be on your way to life.

I wish I could think of something better, but I have never been able to find a doctor willing to even discuss letting me be on my way in life.

I wish you the best of luck.
