Samuel L. Jackson Says Mormon Supporters of Prop 8 'Misinformed'
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,485629,00.html

"Samuel L. Jackson is the latest Hollywood star to voice his opposition to the Mormon Church's support of Proposition 8.

At a video game event on Tuesday, Jackson weighed in on Tom Hanks' earlier comments that Mormon Prop 8 supporters were "un-American."

"I wouldn't go so far as to calling them un-American," Jackson told Foxnews.com. "I'd just call them misinformed.""

1. Samuel L. Jackson is the less radical counterpart to Tom Hanks?

3. I was a little surprised as well.
It is a rather mild statement compared to Hank's. It is still getting some blowback on the conservative and Mormon blogs, though.

4. I read it as a fairly backhanded defense, kinda like
the old Southernism, "Well, bless her heart, she just doesn't know any better."

That's devastating when said by an old lady with blue hair.

6. It's a kind of evasion, sure they're misinformed, and they work at it!

7. Oh, I like that!
I hadn't thought of it that way. Jackson did one of the better No on 8 ads. This seems to be something he feels strongly about. Maybe the conservative blogs got the message in the way you said it. By the way they are reacting, you'd think he came out and kicked kittens for saying "misinformed".

5. Of course it is. This is not even a real critique but they always cry: victim.
