100,000 person March to SF
Edited on Fri Feb-20-09 07:01 PM by JackBeck
Come Out! Come Out!

Be Seen! Be Heard!

Thursday, March 5, 8am-5pm

100,000 person

March to SF

To show the California Supreme Court who their vote on Prop 8 affects

Wear white (as in white on your wedding day) and just show up in front of the State Court:

350 McAllister St., SF, CA 94102

Yes, we know it’s a big deal to ask you to come to SF, but yes, this is a big deal!

For the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer community AND our wonderful allies... a massive CALL FOR ACTION:

While our lawyers begin arguments to invalidate Prop 8 to the California Supreme Court, the morning of March 5, 2009, we must have a call to action and be seen. As the LGBTQA community, we have never had a mobilization of 100,000 people for a political march... LET’S DO THIS! BE SEEN, BE HEARD, SHOW OURSELVES TO THE ACTUAL JUDGES WHO ARE VOTING ON OUR EQUALITY. Bring your friends, family and yourselves and show up! This is it... one final chance to make ourselves visible and MAKE HISTORY!

ORGANIZE! ORGANIZE! ORGANIZE!

This event is being planned and supported by thousands of concerned college students throughout California - JOIN US!!!

I can't tell you how much I wish I could make this event. Our SF wedding anniversary is March 11 (we were one of the last couples married before the court put a halt to them later that afternoon) and would love to participate. So please spread the word. I know we've got some amazing West Coast LGBT members and non-gay allies that might want to attend.

11. Even if you can't attend, please spread the word.
Wouldn't it be even more powerful if we helped them exceed the call for 100,000?

15. I'll probably just be there Thurs.
It doesn't make sense to pay to stay overnight when I live 90 minutes away by car.

9. Damn! I wish, I wish, I wish I could get out there to go.
As painful as air-travel is for me, I'd love to go. It would be so worth it. That sounds like a wonderful event!
:loveya:

I hope a large group of DUers can go; GLBTQ and Straight supporters! Please get organized and take lots of pictures. :)

12. I have to see how that jibes with my spring break.
I hate to fly (haven't since the PATCO strike), but I would love to go to SF for a good cause (or any reason at all)!
