Showing of Gay Tolerance Video Restricted

WAILUKU (AP) - The objections of some parents has led officials of a Maui High School to restrict the showing of a video about discrimination against homosexuals.

King Kekaulike High School had planned to show the 50-minute video this month to ninth-, 10th- and 11th-grade students.

Area superintendent Kenneth Nomura says that after meeting with Principal Susan Scofield and some teachers, they decided to allow only students with parental permission to view the video.

Students now must have a parent sign a permission slip to watch the video.

Nomura says the decision to show the video was based on school board policy that calls for schools to present various viewpoints on controversial issues.

discrimination and hatred of Gays. In it, it can teach students different ways to taunt and slander Gays, how to spot a "fag", and how to beat them up effectively.

What the hell is wrong with our country? So much for teaching kids love and understanding. The Neo-Cons have turned this place into a crazy asylum of hate. And they say that comparing their ideals to that of Nazi Germany is far fetched... There might not be a murderous Holocaust against homosexuals yet, but who knows how far their hatred goes.

Just give the Gays a Star of David to wear these days I guess.
