Archbishop Peter Akinola of Nigeria upped the ante, making new demands on the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Church of Canada.
Nigeria has the largest body of Anglicans outside of Britain. Akinola, who is also the Chair of the Council of Anglican Provinces of Africa, has been waging war on the two North American branches of Anglicanism since the election of Gene Robinson as Bishop of New Hampshire (story) and a decision by a Canadian diocese to bless same-sex marriages (story).
