Work Begins On $20M Chicago Gay Center

Chicago Mayor Richard Daley broke ground Tuesday on a $20 million dollar LGBT community center that he called a "beacon of hope"

Called the Center on Halsted, it will offer educational, recreational and social services along with theater events and social functions.

The complex, on the city's North Side, near Wrigley Field, is the culmination of more than 20 years work by members of the community.
