Hate Crimes Bills Introduced In Michigan
http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/06/061605mnichHate.htm

Legislation to include gays, lesbians and the transgendered in Michigan's hate crimes laws has been introduced in the legislature.

The bills would provide the inclusions in the state's Ethnic Intimidation Act and incorporate a penalty for violations into the Michigan Penal Code. A third bill would amend the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act.

All three were authored by State Representative Chris Kolb (D-Ann Arbor) the first openly gay legislator in Michigan.

1. Do you think it has a chance of passing?
Didn't they pass a particularly nasty version of the gay marriage amendment there? I thought that's what my friend from Michigan told me.
