Sitting here tonight thinking how lucky I am...

to have an amazing partner who loves me, misses me when she's away from home. We can share a silly laugh on the couch, get the giggles in church, finish each others sentences over dinner. For the past 17 years, we've laughed (and cried). Been through college graduations together (her's and mine), seen each other through various career changes and trajectories. We've stared at death twice together (she lost both her sister and her mother in less than 3 years). And she has battled cancer herself. We're still here. Frick and Frack, Laverne and Shirley, Cagney and Lacey, peas and carrots. We're still here. Gray hair, aching backs and expanded waistlines--We're still here.

How sorry I feel for people who refuse to respect the magic of that relationship. How sorry I feel for those who underestimate the passion and determination of LGBT people to fight for their rights EVERYWHERE. We're still here. We aren't going anywhere.

after severe health crises. WE got married in JUne before prop H8 after 32 years each day we become more entwined. We are going to be married no matter what happens
