I can't believe I rooted for her on "Celebrity Apprentice." I should have rooted for Annie Duke (even if I didn't like her AT ALL!!!).

She said on Larry King last night: "Gay marriage, I am so against it because all my gay friends are out. And if they get married, it will cost me a fortune in gifts."

Who cares how long I have been here? I only said that to emphasize that my original post was just an innocent question and the sarcastic replies were unnecessary. Just like yours.

I was in no way implying that LostinVA doesn't make meaningful posts. Anyway, its responses like this that discourage my activism. I'm on here all the time posting any sort of update with regards to same-sex marriage, refreshing news stories, letting everyone know we are finally getting the rights we deserve, etc. But then you wanna come along and diminish my credibility? Whatever.

(A) Her comedy consists of fierce sarcasm, including many jokes about herself.

and

(B) She is a friend of gays and lesbians.

Do you think there are people on the fence about gay marriage that are waiting for Joan Rivers to give a serious talk about the need for equality?

Are people going to say, oh look, Joan made a joke so gay marriage must not be an important issue?

I think not.

If anything, I think her joke is mocking the preposterous stances of the right wing.

I couldn't be less offended by what Joan Rivers said and I'm happy she's on our side.
