L.A. Schools Settle Gay Discrimination Suit

The Los Angeles Unified School District has settled a federal lawsuit that accused Washington Preparatory High School of harassing LGBT students.

The suit, brought by the American Civil Liberties Union on behalf of the students, claimed that the district did little or nothing to stop harassment by other students, teachers, security guards and administrators.

Under the settlement the school district agrees to set up an anti-discrimination training program for students and staff at the South Los Angeles school. It also would extend the program to include middle school students who will attend the campus.

Are in a state of decay. Race riots lately have closed down many schools for a day, afternoon, or anything. It dosent surprise me that these things happen, I know that a gay teacher in my high school was constantly harassed. I'm from LA, btw, and went to inner-city high schools there. Its sad, but they dont know any other way. Teaching them is just the first step towards tolerance
