Anti-gay bigots want to nullify existing gay marriages
Pro-family groups oppose amendment to Massachusetts Constitution proposed by VoteOnMarriage.Org
Amendment would allow existing same-sex “marriages” to stand – and allow Legislature to create domestic partnerships, civil unions.
Groups in Massachusetts and across America sign statement.

Read Statement & list of groups.

Press Release 7/26/05
http://www.article8.org/docs/issues/petition_amendment/press_release.htm

Read Article 8's analysis of amendment.

Read Gov. Romney's press conference that day.
http://www.article8.org/docs/issues/petition_amendment/romney_press_conf.htm

Unacceptable compromise: Mass. Governor Romney reveals the strategy & agrees with it:

"I think the Family Institute is wise not to try and dissolve {same-sex} marriages that will have occurred."

"If this amendment were to pass, at that stage I would support legislation which would provide certain domestic partnership benefits..."

1. But I thought their argument against allowing gay marriage
was that it would lead to the end of civilization as we know it. So now we've had all these marriages, and the world is still here (despite *'s best efforts). What's to argue about in favor of getting rid of gay marriage? I would think the defense would be to simply point at all the married gay couples and ask how they've harmed anyone, anywhere.

2. If it wasn't for gay marriage, North Korea wouldn't have nuclear weapons
Think about it.

6. "Certain domestic partnership benefits"
In other words "be happy with the few scraps I'm tossing you."

7. They've already lost
When the people of Massachusetts vote down their amendment, what's their rationale going to be then?

Both their "activist judge" and "let the people decide" lines will be used up.

9. The rationale will be something along the lines of "brainwashing" or
even that the issue of gay marriage hasn't been fully discussed in a democratic fashion, that gay activists have hijacked this or that pillar of democracy, etc. :eyes:

They will NOT give up - keep that in mind.
