Giant Defense Contractor Protects Transgender Workers

Raytheon has joined a growing number of companies to recognize the role played by the transgendered in the workplace.

The company has added gender identity and expression to its equal opportunity policy. The Waltham Massachusetts-based company has had protections for gay and lesbian workers for several years.

Currently, 71 of the Fortune 500 firms include gender identity and expression in their policies. Raytheon is the first defense contractor to provide the protections.

raytheon is an enemy of democracy however.

this is the same reasoning that some women use patting large corporations on the back when starting treating women and their needs seriously -- yeah you're better treated at work but lose far more in ability to manipulate your private life at home and bring civilizing influences to society and politics.

mega corporations are killing western civilization -- and that's how they should be viewed.
they ae that extreme.

TGs in the defense industry ara not left alone at the working level. The discrimination is rampant but subtle. Its not so much corporate (and therefore actionable), but more on the working level. They get OK reviews, not stellar. They have a hard time finding work teams to accept them. They glass ceiling almost as soon as they transition at work. Seen it with my own eyes...
