Anyone feeling optimistic about DADT after last night?
Trust me, the first thing the Dems cave on will be this. Next is cap and trade. They already caved on HCR, so that doesn't count.

3. Wasn't even mentioned in the Race or the Polls
So ofcourse DADT and repeal of DOMA will be the first to go.
OTOH We could become good mechanics, seeing how familiar we are with the underside of the bus.

4. Brownie was very anti-marriage equality...it's curious to see how the POS
reacts when he actually has to defend his neanderthal beliefs.

5. Unfortunately, I feel your sentiment. If we loose the House, or a massive proportion of it, I don't
expect us to repeal DADT. Very, very sad right now.

6. I think even before the November elections there'll be far too many Dems
wanting to be cautious and will discourage any attempt to repeal it.

7. ...and expect the Democrats to start running even more to the right
Kiss any progress on gay rights goodbye for a few years. You'll just have to "wait your turn" and quit "whining" about your "pony" until "the time is right."

10. Losing in a liberal state to a conservative Republican? Clearly we need to be more liberal!
That's ridiculous reasoning on the face of it.

So is the belief that this was a referendum on whether the Dems were being left-wing enough. You don't need a political science degree to see that an arrogant and poorly run campaign like Coakley's alienated blue-collar voters for reasons having to do with attitude and effort, rather than policy.

11. One word...offense
You win campaigns on offense, you put your opponent on the defensive...Brown did this early...Repukes have figured it out, Dems always fail at it.
