Another one that is particularly galling is 'the homosexual agenda,' which implies a sinister conspiracy. That's the type of propaganda that feeds the practitioners of hate, providing a rationale in their twisted minds for carrying out acts of violence. That phrase was the deal-breaker for ceasing attendance at my wife's church over 20 years ago.

I have been out for almost 40 years now and I have yet to see a "one size fits all" "lifestyle." You're right--it IS condescending tripe and I correct it every chance I get. I guess if they can convince themselves that it is a "lifestyle", they can believe it is a choice, which means (according to them) we can change, and we should then be penalised for refusing to do so.:banghead:

I, for one, am still enjoying the fabu toaster I got when I decided to join "the homosexual lifestyle." It was made in AMERICA, too, as I was a child when I was reassured by every book I could get my hands on (including boy scout and other religious materials) that it was "just a phase."

praise the many gods it wasn't! And the toaster weighs a ton and could withstand the impact of most any modern vehicle.

and defined. It includes:

* be humble
* equality between man and woman, slave and freeman, all races
* love your fellow man
* do not hold your own opinion to be equal to God's law

When you think about it, there's an awful lot of Christians NOT living the Christian lifestyle.

Not that it makes any big deal difference, but I'm an older man who was in the closet a long time and who managed to get by on a masculine appearance and a shoeshine. At least that was the theory.

That lifestyle didn't agree with me.

I have been out since 1991. Such a relief. No I didn't start mincing, nor grabbing every male ass in sight.

What is my "lifestyle"? Mostly it's just minding my own business, but without hiding what I am like a deep dark secret.

I am single, not dating, have 4 kids, work full time, go to school, have a wide variety of friends, and spend a good amount of free time with family. Do I live the "homosexual lifestyle" simply because I am attracted to the same sex because my life is pretty boring.

Because in their minds, gay people are those who 'lost' that struggle - overlooking the inconvenient fact that most of us who are gay are NOT attracted in any romantic or sexual way to the opposite sex.
