There is interest from the progressive community at Democratic Underground (democraticunderground.com) in fund raising for Constance and her classmates to assist paying for hotel rooms in New Orleans after Sean Cummings, the owner of a hotel chain in the New Orleans area offered to host the prom and provide transportation to New Orleans for the students.

If Mr. Cummings’ offer is accepted, please contact myself and Mr. David Allen ([e-mail]) to assist in making this year’s prom for the class of Itawamba County Agricultural High School one to remember.

1. You and I are on parallel tracks today, lol!

I was thinking, even if we got a bunch of people to send $1 and a sentence of support, that would be so cool.

A lot of people can't do much more than that and leveling the contribution field would make it easier to participate.

It doesn't look like this event will be hurting for money so a token + some wishes may be just the thing.

2. As you said in the other thread

Let's wait to hear from the ACLU and how this plays out. If our support is needed, they will be overwhelmed.

If the school board relents and allows for the prom to go through, with Constance and her partner's participation, they will know they have our support.
