Are you a college student or post-graduate student interested in a paid internship opportunity with Pride at Work, organizing for social and economic justice with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender labor and our allies?

The R. Scott Hitt Foundation is accepting applications for their 2010 internship grants, providing grant funding for college and post-graduate students to receive compensation for skill-building internships at pro-LGBT 501(c)3 non-profit organizations. Applicants do not need to identify as LGBT in order to apply.

If Pride at Work sponsors your application and RSHF approves it, Pride at Work will receive funding from RSHF to compensate your internship position while you strengthen your resume and gain valuable skills towards becoming a leader of the future.

POST-GRADUATE ~ WASHINGTON, DC
Application Deadline: May 7, 2010
* Post graduate students with strong academic record
* Duration: 7-9 months, 40 hour week - $20,000 Grant
* Location: An established 501(c)3 nonprofit with a commitment to the advancement of LGBT equality (PRIDE AT WORK, WASHINGTON, DC)
* Applicant contacts Pride at Work to request sponsorship and co-develops a successful curriculum encompassing these key elements: communications, fundraising, board development and grassroots policy
* 2-4 recipients per year

UNDERGRADUATE ~ LOS ANGELES, CA
Application Deadline: April 16, 2010
* Current undergraduate students with strong academic record
* Duration: 8 weeks, 40 hour week - $5000 Grant to sponsor 501(c)3
* Location: An established 501(c)3 nonprofit in Southern California with a commitment to the advancement of LGBT equality (PRIDE AT WORK, LOS ANGELES, CA)
* Applicant contacts host organization (Pride at Work) which they want to work with and co-develops a successful curriculum encompassing key elements of non-profit operations and program development
* Named for the nonprofit ANGLE (Access Now for Gay & Lesbian Equality) which inspired and provided the funding for these internships
* 3-5 recipients per year

PROCESS:
1. Visit www.scotthittfoundation.org for details.
2. Apply to Pride at Work to be the pro-LGBT 501(C)3 non-profit organization sponsoring your internship.
3. Agree to the terms of your internship and scope of work with Pride at Work as your sponsoring organization. Construct sponsor agreement in cooperation with your chosen 501(c)3.
4. Submit your cover letter, personal essay, résumé and sponsor agreement by the above deadline to www.scotthittfoundation.org.
5. Check www.scotthittfoundation.org for grant award dates.
