Hollywood – Pat Robertson on Sunday said that Hurricane Katrina was God’s way of expressing its anger at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for its selection of Ellen Degeneres to host this year’s Emmy Awards. “By choosing an avowed lesbian for this national event, these Hollywood elites have clearly invited God’s wrath,” Robertson said on “The 700 Club” on Sunday. “Is it any surprise that the Almighty chose to strike at Miss Degeneres’ hometown?”

Robertson also noted that the last time Degeneres hosted the Emmys, in 2001, the September 11 terrorism attacks took place shortly before the ceremony.

Yo Robertson,

Heads up. Jesus is all about the New Testament. Love they neighbor, Love each other, Love thy enemy, take care of the sick, visit the imprisoned, feed the hungry, give to the poor...you know, that kind of thing. As I recall there is something in there about "Only God can judge the heart of man" or, in this case, woman. There was also that blurb about "Judge not least ye be judged." The way I see it my God gave me a brain and he wants me to use it. We are not called to go on blind faith...but faith and wisdom together are the way. Message to Robertson, that whole "WRATHFUL" God thing that is so passe, so yesterday's Old Testement...you know, the book before Jesus. Anyway, the way I see it, hurricanes are about weather and GLOBAL WARMING! Yeah, there's that spooky science word again. Bottom line - GOD DID NOT GIVE ME THE SPIRIT OF FEAR, BUT OF POWER AND OF MIGHT AND OF A SOUND MIND. I don't like SCARY FEAR-BASED GOD'S GONNA GET YOU RELIGION...IT'S EXTREME, FANATICAL, RIGID, FUNDAMENTALIST like those "terrorists" the "Compassionate Conservatives" think everyone else's children should fight. 5. Dear God,

In your great wisdom, you have recently created another hurricane, Hurricane Ophelia (as we here on earth have dubbed it) and (as you know because you're causing it) it is slooooowly moving up the East Coast churning off the coasts of North and South Carolina.

As you know, it's supposed to make landfall in NC sometime tomorrow, but after that I have a request. After it floods the area that I live in and causes beach erosion (I know how you like to spite folks with beach erosion. That will teach them to cover up next time), could you please send the hurricane up to Virginia Beach and have it harm NOTHING except for Brother Pat's little collection of buildings including his studio, university, etc.

I know that's a pretty specific request God, but if you can kill thousands of people and destroy an entire city because Ellen DeGeneres prefers the ladies, surely you could do a little collateral damage to the buildings owned by a truly dangerous man.

You'd be doing me a real solid if you could do this for me God.
