Ed Kohler: Where do you shop if you boycott Target and Best Buy?

"Amazon is where I buy nearly all of my electronics. I buy granola bars, quinoa, bike supplies, travel gear, lots of books, laundry detergent, toilet paper, napkins, shavers, deodorant, crackers, toothpaste, hardware supplies, etc. Nearly everything I could buy at Target or Best Buy outside of soda. Nearly all of it ships to me for free in 2 days as an Amazon Prime member, which is clearly worth it based on how much I buy from them. (By the way, you can become an Amazon Prime member for free if you’re a student with a .edu email address."
(Anyone else can try Amazon Prime free for a month)

Regarding Amazon’s political contributions, see for yourself at Open Secrets.

(58% Democrats, 42% Republicans)

And, here are the numbers for Amazon’s CEO, Jeff Bezos.

1. I won't shop at Amazon either...
They refuse to stop selling dog-fighting books and magazines.

2. If one were to take a strict approach, there are not too many places that would/should not be
boycotted.

On the other hand, I take the boycott list as a guide to which companies to steal stuff from.

just in case... :sarcasm:

3. Amazon refuses to let me choose a shipping company.
For condo owners, UPS is the spawn of Satan and treats us as second class citizens. Amazon's "customer service" does not provide actual customer service, but is nothing more than an e-mail generator to tell you what their policies are. If I am asking for customer service, I want Customer Fucking Service! If I want to know your policies, then I'll read your FAQs.

No response from "customer service" after I had the nerve to ask for ACTUAL customer service, means I don't shop at Amazon anymore.

I switched to Barnes & Noble. They are also blue. They carry all the media Amazon does. Movies, music, books, magazines, e-books, etc. They also let me specify US Postal Service, which is all I wanted Amazon to do. I bought 10 books for the Kindle app for iPad from Amazon. Now I have a B&N Reader app and am going to buy Nook books for my iPad instead. I spent thousands of dollars at Amazon over the years. Sorry I can't continue.

So all my Blu-Rays get purchased at Ultimate Electronics ( a Mountain Time Zone electronics store). They match prices too. There's a Wallgreen's(not the best place in the world) not too far from my home, so I can walk there. For other toiletries or prescriptions, I just go to Safeway. they have Union workers and their prices aren't worth the trouble of going to the Burbs to a Target anyway. For household things, Sears price matches, and The Gap has decent sale prices on T-Shirts.

aven't bee in a Best Buy in 4 months. I haven't been in a Target in 9. I haven't been in a Wal-Mart in 8 years.
