Neil Patrick Harris and partner David Burtka expecting twins this fall

I think this is so freaking cool. I hardly post here anymore, but I wanted to post about this. They'll be great dads. :-)


Neil Patrick Harris announced Saturday that he and his partner, David Burtka, are expecting twins this fall.

Harris, the openly gay star of the sitcom How I Met Your Mother and director of the recent Hollywood Bowl run of the musical Rent, made the announcement via his Twitter account (@ActuallyNPH):

“So get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall. We’re super excited/nervous/thrilled. Hoping the press can respect our privacy…”

and on a personal level, I am grateful they referred to their "expecting" twins.



If I hear one more couple tell me that "we are pregnant" (which is no less ludicrous for a heterosexual couple to say than it would be for any other), I think I will scream. A couple is expecting the birth of their baby, but only one individual is pregnant. Ok... I feel better. Rant over and I thank you for your indulgence. ;)

So many of the lines are so different knowing Neil Patrick Harris is gay (his plot has to do with him falsely saying he slept with a nurse who then spreads rumors about him). Here is the link to Hulu.
