GLBT's didn't make the cut on DNC Survey again this this year.

The DNC wants us to rank 14 national issues in order of priority. And then send $$$.


The trouble is the survey. It's GLBT-free. Again. ( And it does appear that they've at least tweaked the form since '09.)


Anyway.... I squeezed in an extra line at the bottom margin and hand-wrote ... as i did last year... "equal rights for GLBT citizens"... or words to that effect. With a big numero *1* next to it.


So... no money to DNC ( I explained this nicely to them in the comments section) until they acknowledge we exist. Though I will continue to send $$$ to individual progressive DEMS.

The survey's a bit early this year.

1. Donating what time and money I can spare to local candidates

I'm about to be unemployed, which makes this a lot harder, but I'll do what I can.

My money goes only to specific progressive causes and candidates - no more funding of blue-dogs, DLCer and other covert republicans for me.

I suspect the survey goes in their round-file. It's all about the $$ they glean, not the issues. They GAFF what I think.

4. Good masters thesis

I often think they should let some politcal science majors have access to these things. Could make good material for a master's thesis or something. It's truly "raw" data and the students could get access basically for free.

10. They split the survey this year.

Our part of the survey got sent to the military for "review" by military members, their families, their neighbors, their pets, and anyone walking down the street in front of their house. They want to make sure we are at least worthy to die for this country first. Then, maybe we'll get included in later surveys if we are deemed human sometime after that.

I know we should be eternally thankful for scraps, but still *fingers crossed*
