Australian school removes the word 'gay' in song about a happy bird

A SCHOOL has banned the word "gay" from the classic Aussie song Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree.   [br />
Instead of "Gay your life must be", students at Cheltenham's Lepage Primary have been told to sing "Fun your life must be" in another win for political correctness.  

It's a fresh controversy for the beloved ditty, which is at the centre of a continuing legal battle over a riff used in the Men at Work international hit Down Under.  

Lepage principal Garry Martin said he that he taught the lyrics to grade one pupils using an old tape of the famous song.

7. My little nephew was just beginning to understand what "gay" meant

and he walked around on christmas morning singing that part of the song over and over again,,Don we now our gay apparel...it was cute.

No one said a word about it when he did it, which is of course the correct thing to do.
