9. George Takei Election Day political refresher:

He was an alternate delegate to the Democratic Convention from CA-1972, he ran for city council in LA and nearly won.
Mayor Tom Bradley appointed George to the RTD board. George cast the tie breaking vote to build the subway in Los Angeles that is now used by thousands of people. He's also just a cool cat and excellent toward his many fans.
