1. If they can do it they will....or the temp fix will be done.
I hope it doesn't come to that and can be repealed like it should be.

behave and vote just so they do not upset any Repukes. This has become a ridiculous country.

3. Republicans will filibuster repeal in the Senate.
With the new reality show on Capitol Hill in January, they have no reason to be reasonable.

4. Why not let the courts do it?
I've never understood why Democrats have fallen into the trap of, "let's repeal it the 'right' way." (This is what they said in the early days of the Obama presidency.) It's just not right that people who have fought for our country are then betrayed by that country. Get rid of DADT and then that will be right.

7. As if there were any chance before the results of this election
The gAyTM remains firmly closed except to those Democrats who actually DO fight. The blue dogs and the wimps can kiss my foot because they can't reach my ass from under their repug masters' boot heels.

8. DADT repeal will never happen.
I am getting more and more convinced by it. I believe the Pentagon will pull out the "we're in 2 wars and it's just too difficult" thing in their study in December. Legislatively, not just no, but fuck no. Senile gasbag John McCain has threatened to filibuster DADT repeal in the Senate, and with the new "working across the aisle" meme, which has worked so well in the past, we can forget about the Senate.

It will be challenged in the courts, until it reaches SCOTUS, where Justice Kennedy will side with the 4 other right wing fucks in ruling that DADT is constitutional.

And that will be that. And eventually, we'll get to a point where almost all the world will allow gay and lesbian people to serve in their militaries, except for the United States, Zimbabwe, North Korea and Iraq.

Sorry for the utterly depressing post, but I'm not really in a "Yes, We Can!" mood today.

17. I've tried to be optimistic about the US far too long. I find anymore for me it's
best to be pessimistic as hell, which I don't like, but then the small wins are more gratifying. I don't think the US is going far anymore. We had a good run of it after WWII, but that's run out. It's become obvious ignorance rules in the US of today.

9. No.
Unfortunately, I don't think we can expect any positive legislative changes for GLBT's. Certainly not an end to DADT or DOMA.

How sad for our country.
